  • 1.  B2B Transition Errors

I created b2b transition logic for text changes on a lower. The animation is a wipe across the quad. However when it animates in, the text changes before the wipe can play out. What I want is for the text to stay the same until the wipe hides it so the new text does not appear until the wipe is done. How would I go about fixing this?

I have tried creating separate scene directors for the in and out but it doesn't seem to work and glitches my masks so they stop working entirely. Any suggestions?

you should have a default director that does nothing.

An IN for online and an OUt for offline.

You'll need b2b In and b2b out scene directors.

If your b2b Out takes 25 frames your in should start at 25 frames.

Obviously, these are just the basic rules and once you understand them you can break them but this is how to get started and understand it.

You also noticed a checkbox labelled render animated objects only.

When using this option ticked on, anything like a mask or an object that isn't animated will need a keyframe placed on it so that XPression renders it as part of the transition.

Follow transition logic videos 101 onwards. 103 particularly covers text if I remember correctly.

Hello Simon, could I please pick your brain on transition logic? I have two issues one a bit more complicated than the other so i'll start with the "easier" one. I have a scene with back-to-back logic, but my "Cut-Point" is off. My IN/OUT out of the scene are correct, but when I perform a B2B transition, after the transition has played, I see my previous logo for a brief second, and then it cuts to the new logo. any thoughts?

    SAMPLE

Excuse the phone recording, my Windows won't let me screen record with Xpression running.

So by default, the outgoing scene is on-top in Transition logic, which means that our scene that's leaving is sticking around. We also strip all of the objects that don't have a keyframe on them in that out SceneDirector. I'm thinking all you should need to do is set a keyframe for your out-scene sponsor logo object to cut it's visibility off during the wipe animation, and you'll have the new scene's sponsor logo behind it.

Okay so I only have one scene director for my B2B, because it's one animation. Should I have the same transition on another scene director and set that as my OUT?

You mention adding a keyframe to my OUT:

    1) What type of keyframe should I add (Alpha, X, Y or Z)?

    2) should I add the keyframe to an animation controller, instead of the video material?

    3) Where do I place the keyframe? at the beginning or at the end of the animation controller?

    4) Do I need two keyframes or is it a dummy keyframe? for example if it's an Alpha keyframe do I need one to go from 0 and a second to take it back to 100?

You always need an IN and an OUT for transition logic.
