  • 1.  Camera feeds cutting out intermittently with Carbonite and AW-UE150

Every few hours, our Panasonic AW-UE150 camera feeds black out for a few seconds. This only happens when one of our staff members uses the cut function to change shots on the Ross Carbonite. When our other staff switch shots directly on the program bus, the blackouts do not happen. I understand this may not be a Carbonite issue, but does anyone have a recommendation for things I should check?

Other relevant information is that the Panasonic cameras show a "Genlock succeeded" message after the cutouts end.

Hey Mark. This sounds like a reference issue. Broadcast cameras use a signal to time all the signals together so you can easily switch them together and it looks like that signal is missing from the cameras. You may want to talk to our tech support department direct and they should give you a steer on some settings to fix this.

If you have a Carbonite Ultra, and it is generating the reference signal, I HIGHLY recommend updating the Carbonite to the latest firmware.
We had a system that was having sporadic issues with genlock, also using UE-150s, but the 9.1 update has documented bugfixes for reference generation, and has resolved that issue. https://rossvideo.community/viewdocument/carbonite-ultra-v914-software-dow
