  • 1.  Carbonite MV 50i

    I'm re-visiting something that my tech colleagues are having an issue with.  Our production wall is made of of 4x4 grid of 63" Samsungs.  3 of these display MV outs from our Ultrix, the 4th displays the MV out from the Carbonite.  Our workflow is 1080p50 - which is fine on the Ultrix, but the Carbonite seems to only output 50i on the MV.  Is this correct?  Is there no way to get a 1080p50 Multiview output of a Carbonite Multiview?

    It causes an issue in one of our other studios, but this location doesn't have an Ultrix.  The Camera guys aren't happy with the Carbonite MV, so in the 1st case we've had to use Ultrix resources as a workaround, but in the 2nd case there doesn't appear to be any options.

    In both cases the Video mode of the Carbonites is set at 1080p50, but I seem to recall ROSS confirming that the MV O/P can only be interlaced.  Is this true or am I missing something?  If it IS true - can we pop that in as a future update/improvement?

    Can you provide which model of Carbonite Engine this is?

    The info should be on the status page of dashboard under engine type along with the software version?

    Carbonite Ultra / Ultrix Carbonite / Ultra 60 will output the MV in 1080p when in 1080p.  The older Frames are not able to do this and for resource limitations have to run in 1080i.

    They're both Carbonite Black Plus engines.  The unit working with the Ultrix is on SW V 15.0.4.18626, the other 'standalone' Carbonite is probably on the same SW version, I just can't access that system at the moment.  So the Black Plus can't and never will do 50p on the MV?

    Correct those can not do 50p on the MV outputs.
