    Hi all,

I'm doing due dilligence just in case I missed a way to do something.

I am using a DVE move to slide in a lower 3rd. (this is my way of adding "animation" to Lower 3rds)

    1. Lower 3rd- Media Manager 1 is on screen.
    2. Lower 3rd slides out (totally off screen)
    3. Lower 3rd changes to Media Manager 2 and then slides back on.

I have this build with a CC that works fine but it looks like I need 3 memories to do this .. one for each step as discribed. That's fine but I was curious if I'm missing a fancy nerdy idea.

(Side story, when I was a TD at KRON in San Francisco, the TD's would get together and see who could build a specified effect with the least amount of switcher resources. Yup, we were nerds.)

    Hi Danny,

You can actually do this directly in a Custom Control using the Insert "STATE" event.

You also have full access to Custom Control Attributes that you set before inserting the state. (the is the STATE tab in the CC editor).  basically your saving the Memory directly in the Custom Control.  It does not use a single of the actually memories.  You could almost call it Key frames :)

Ok, I played with this a bit. STATE has one event. It seems whenever I insert it, I get State EffDis 100fr. I tried doing some panel manipulations to change the state of the switcher, including going all the way back to STORE-ALL to recall the R State, then start a new CC and I still get the same event. The Carbonite doc is a bit thin on the info.

Can you give me a short example of a use? Or is there a video on this? It's an interesting function that I'm sure some s/w engineer put some time in to. I'd like to see what I can use it for.
