  • 1.  Carbonite Ultra FW Upgrade

    Trying to upgrade our Carbonite Ultra from v3.0 to v7.1. I don't see any documentation about a recommended upgrade path, so I assume it's okay to leap directly to 7.1?

    We tried upgrading through Dashboard by drag-and-dropping the *.ultra file, but the upgrade failed (I checked that dip switch 4 is in the up position).

    I'll try upgrading directly from the USB port on the unit next, but I cannot find any instructions on how to do this in the literature. I assume I just put the upgrade file in the root directory of a USB drive, connect it to the frame, and press the upgrade switch on the front panel?

    Update: I was able to upgrade to 7.1 from the USB drive connected to the frame method, but now I seem to have lost access to SoftPanel control in Dashboard.

    Hi Nouvelle,

    Starting from Carbonite Ultra v5, the SoftPanel was moved to its own port (5257). In DashBoard, add a device with the Carbonite's IP address, but use 5257 instead of the default 5253.

    I have attached the upgrade notes for v5. Look for the segment called MultiPanel in DashBoard.

    I now have control of the physical panel through the touch screen again.
