and for Focus if you just want to move the XPression Sequencer Bar.

you can send the Take Next ( Called NEXT in the protocol) command which will advance the Sequencer position.
You can even use the Focus Command to Move the Sequencer bar to the Take ID you want to start from with out first triggering it. Then the Take Next event will be sent to trigger it.. and then it moves to the next take id (as long as the current take id does not have a pause in the scene director. If it does then it stays on that element allowing you to send the Take Next command again to advance the pauses).

Subject: CARBONITE ULTRA MEDIA WIPE TO TRIGGER ANIMATED XPRESSION GRAPHICs
Hi Aaron
sorry to pester - is there a rosstalk command from the switcher to Xpression that is open-ended - that is to say that doesn't reference a specific take id? the segment that is being produced will have a varying number of clips. I can reference the first graphic's take id in the first part of the macro, but after that I want to build a macro with roll clip and media wipe on the carbonite and take next on expression sequencer until all videos are played out and then go back to chromakey full screen.
my plan was one macro to start the segment and make the first graphic and media wipe transition, a second macro to trigger the media wipe roll, clip and animate the graphic change and do that 3, 4, or 5 times then either close out the first macro or have a third macro for the out.
thanks very much for your help on this - very much appreciated
cheers
Greg

Hi Greg,
To ensure that I understand you correctly... may I confirm that you want to use Carbonite to trigger XPression, which is providing the animated media wipe?
By GPO, is that physical wiring between Carbonite and XPression for the devices to communicate? Alternatively, you can use RossTalk for the Carbonite to communicate with XPression. RossTalk is an IP-based protocol, which will simplify the communication. Here is a link to guide you: https://help.rossvideo.com/carbonite-device/Topics/Devices/CG/XPression-GPI.html
After you have setup the RossTalk communication between Carbonite and XPression, you can build a Custom Control to simplify this. On Carbonite, you can send a RossTalk command to XPression that specifies the Scene's Take ID. Every Scene in XPression (wipes, lower thirds, bugs etc) has a unique Take ID (screenshot attached). Therefore, an operator is not needed to trigger the specific XPression scene, Carbonite will be doing that.
In your Custom Control...
- Assign the XPression Key/Fill signals to a keyer.
- Turn the keyer on.
- Send the RossTalk command to XPression.
- Insert a Pause command for X number of frames, where X is the number of frames after the start of the media wipe to the cut/transition point.
- Perform the Carbonite cut/transition.
- Turn the keyer off.
Hope this helps!

Hi there
I want to use a CARBONITE ULTRA MEDIA WIPE TO TRIGGER ANIMATED XPRESSION GRAPHICS via GPO. Just wondering what I need to do to configure the Carbonite GPO and what's necessary on Xpression to get the page changes to coordinate with the wipe as opposed to having an operator make the changes manually. any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
