  • 1.  Carbonite upgrade failed.

    Hi all,

    We've just tried to upgrade our Ultra frame from 4.0.0.517 to 7.0.3.9205, twice, both time resulting in failure.

    First time was via Dashboard, uploading the .ultra file from a PC via Dashboard to the frame. This resulted in the panel display saying, a little after clicking OK to upgrade, --Upgrade Mode--Upgrade Failed.

    Second time was via the USB key with the .ultra file. We loaded it on Dashboard and clicked OK, after a little while the panel display saying --Upgrade Mode--Invalid Checksum.

    At this point we cut our losses. Is there anything, obvious or not, that might cause this problem, and is there anything we can do to upgrade successfully?

    That is an older version that your trying to upgrade to than what is on the website.  Checksum Failed means that the file is probably corrupted somehow during the download or transfer to the USB.

    Find/acquire another USB stick that you can Format FAT32 and start it fresh..

    Download 7.1.6 from the website

    https://www.rossvideo.com/support/software-downloads/carbonite-ultra/

    Put that file on it from the download with nothing else on it...

    Now try again plugging into the frame and through dashboard selecting that version to upgrade to.

    We tried a different stick today (previous stick was also FAT32, so who knows!) with the newer version and the upgrade was successful. Thanks for your help!
