  • 1.  CC Recall via a Memory

    Posted 20 days ago

I'd like to try running a CC from a memory. Running the CC would be the only thing this memory would do. My (limited) research seems to show a sort-of-hack that I haven't been able to do.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Carbonite 9.2.1 and TD2 3.3.1

    Hi Danny,

there is not a way to directly do this like in Vision / Acuity where you could Attach a Custom Control to a Memory.

is it really a memory that you want this done in or you want a way to run CCs via the key pad module?

    Hi Les,

I'm not seeing a way to attach in memory. Could be I'm just not seeing it. My purpose is rather specific to a show I am about to do. It's an 9-camera game show with a bunch of ME effects. I want the CC in the MEPP keypad because this is a good right hand location for fast access to the media wipe it will do. I already use the 3 unused trans buttons for other CC that get punched by my right hand.

If it's not in Carbonite, then ... wait for it ... Feature Request! It would make the recall more like Timelines, bringing back that argument you, Dave, and I had back in the early days. :)

    Good times....

yes my reply to you was "there is NOT a way to do this like in Vision/Acuity"

Now if it is just the one ...  you could do a trick where you burn an aux buse :)  --- Aux 28 is setup to be an "On Air Always" Bus.  Then you make an input source that you are not using "ever" ...  you then attach a RossTalk Device to that source -- IP is the Switcher frame IP address.  Give it a Roll Clip Event -- then setup the custom event send a CC event back to the switcher --  This will trigger then every time that source is put on Air via the Aux Buses that is not actually being used.

Just make sure that in your Custom Control that at the end of it you set the Aux back to Black as the source.

Now in your memory the only Attribute that you set is that one Aux Bus To include the recall of.  And store that will that source Active on it.

Edit -- just quickly thinking on this -- you might not have to use a physical input -- you might be able to do this as well with using another Aux Bus -- so burn 2 use Aux 27 as the source attach device to it etc....  pretty sure you can do that as well.
