  • 1.  Concatenate Data in a Global List

    Posted 08-07-2023 10:48

I'm trying to include Concatenated data into my global list for a stats page. Right now our data for penalties and yards are separated so I concatenate them to control how the data appears visually so everything is even.

I've tried using visual logic to turn that text box on and off based on the category name but since it doesn't read it being static text it doesn't work. I tried assigning the text box for each piece of data into the global list but it didn't read that as well.

    Thank you for any help!

    The data comes in as

    team<2>\totals\penalties
    no

    team<2>\totals\penalties
    yds

Right now I have those two text boxes in the visual data, concatenate them and then spit out the data in a visible text box

I had a seperate piece of visual logic saying if the title text box equals "Penalties/Yds" than that data field is visible and turns off the other one that is being controlled by the Global List but I was hoping to have it all live in the list.

Sorry for the confusion, it wasn't working. When I tried to have it turn on and off based off the global list it wouldn't work since the category data doesn't come through since it's a static text with the global list. I was just wondering if there was a way to show concatenated data with a global list so it would work ljke the rest of the data I had.
In the Global list I have the data path and then in the text object I have it looking at the global list columns to pull the path to get the data.

Do you know how to use assign columns?

No worries, it might be what you want. Add a new column to your global list with something like 1/0 or On/Off next to the paths.

The make a text object to control the vis of the fields that checks that text box.

    Then use assign colomns.

Then when that line is selected it will forward the contents of that column to the text object.
