Hi,

We consider to have a better cooling environment for our Ultrix FR5 which is in flightcase. Could you confirm that the FR5 draws fresh air from right to left ? In that case would it be a good idea to blow cold air on the right side ? 

We also have an Ultricool just above the router.

Hi Boris,

The Ultrix-FR5 draws air in from the right side and the front of the system. Exhaust is out the left side.

If installing in a flight case, we'd recommend providing means to allow adequate airflow. For tight installations, take a look at Ultricool | Ross Video, which is a 1RU fan unit which can draw air in from the front and direct it down the side of the Ultrix frame.

Thanks for the reply ! I got the answer few weeks ago... So we bulid a flight case dedicated to our FR5. Here a some photos...

We made hatches on both sides so that ther is a good air flow. We also use a portable AC to induce cold air on the right side. This way Ultrix seems to be happy :)
