I am making a continuous crawl/ticker pulling in data from Excel.

As part of the design, I need the text to crawl behind an animating green bar which is part of the clip (as seen on attachment).

I've made the crawl as a scene group and have placed the animating bar clip on the Parent Scene and text on the Child screne attached to the Parent.

How do I achieve the text crawling behind the green bar without masking the strap? I did try placing the mask on the text scene, but the mask crawls with the text.

    Any ideas?

you are using parent scenes and sequence groups to make your crawl? I think you may have confused 2 different methods to achieve a crawl.

No, just making the crawl in Scene Manager only by creating a scene group

    I've attached a packaged example

I misread your question, here is a video on what you want.

Thanks Red, will see if this works without masking the video strap.

With regards to using excel, what is the best way to share this with someone else externally so they make updates and my crawler changes?

    Hi Phil
    Following on from this...
I've got to run a crawl within a bar on an animating L3 that animates on and off in a fancy manner. I need to mask both ends of the text so that it runs within the bar.
I am also finding it difficult as the mask is masking the L3 animating strap when all I want is for it to mask the text?
Did you get this to work in the end?

    Hi all,
Another way of masking is using BOX MASK, this gives more control on the mask.
BOX MASK can be found in the EFFECTS tab ->Keying->Box Mask . Drag and drop the Box Mask effect in the EFFECTS tab of the container. Then right click the BoxMask1 to show properties and there u can play aroung with the mask.
For the purpose of crawl, use the Box Mask on a layer object.

Regarding excel sharing, you're going to need to set it up for sharing.
