    Hi there,

I am building some simple credits where page 1 comes on with an animating strap then the strap is to stay on (animating) and just the text to change for several pages then both the strap and text to fade off.  Do I need to build this using transition logic or can it be done using separate layers?

There are multiple ways to do this.
Here it is just 2 ideeas:

    1. Create a single Scene with all the content, using one single Scene Director, create multiple gruops with your text content and in timeline fade in and out groups as you want. In this case you have a certain number of text "pages".

    2. You can use 2 different Scenes - 1 Scene as backgroud animated stripe on Layer 1 and 1 text Scene on Layer 2 (both Scenes are running in the same time on different layers). In Sequence Mode, you have to switch the Playout Mode of the Group to Timed (eatch scene is played one by one based on item duration - the background Scene Director should be very short - just with intro animation; if you have a clip, you can play it with Auto Start) and at the end you have to put an empty Scene on both Layers in order to clear the screen - you can use transition logic for a better resoults.

    Have FUN!

The best way to do what you want to do is transition logic and would only require, IN, OUT, B2BIN, B2BOUT and NULL scene directors. You then just drag the same scene into the sequencer as many times as you wish with different content for as many different items as you have, 3, 6, 27 and you then then easily animate between. The video you want is this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzAWzzzCqqM although you may need to watch the ones before for it to make sense.

Hey Red, thanks for this but I need to use an animating strap and change on the pages without the strap animating - would you still use transition logic for this, I can only find examples using a static strap?  Many thanks, Tracie

In that case, you only include update text in your b2b animations and don't animate the strap?
