Good day, Steve. This probably would have been seen sooner in the Switcher forum, but many of the switcher people also monitor other sites as well so no problems.
If I'm understanding your question correctly, you've already built a DVE box on Key 1 and would like an easy way to change the shot in the DVE box. Its actually very easy to do that, especially if you've built Custom Controls before.
The macro can be built on the panel or in DashBoard, but I'll detail the steps in DashBoard. (If you'd rather use the panel, see the Carbonite Black Solo Operations Manual starting around Pg. 56.) Launch DashBoard if it isn't already open and from the switcher navigation menu, select the Custom Control node. Select the Editor tab. On the left side of the screen, you'll see the Banks and Custom Control Macro registers available. Select an empty one and at the top of the screen, select Record. On the Control Panel, select Key 1 to delegate the button row, then select the source you'd like to put in the box. (You'll see those commands "echoed" on the screen because you can also enter them directly in DashBoard.) Now, on the right side of the screen, press the Insert button, then press Done and Stop Recording. There is a section at the top of the screen near the Record button that allows you to name the macro. To built other shots, simply repeat the process with different empty macros.
The macros can be run from DashBoard or from the panel using the Bank buttons to select the Bank and then using the top row of buttons to select the desired macro.
There are other methods and techniques to record and edit macros; the Carbonite Black tutorial entitled "Building Macros" has more details. It is available in the Carbonite Black section of our Ross University at
