Production Switchers

I'm building what is meant to be a view only dashboard for my operators to see the current status of some parameters for Automation.

When I change a button to a read only state, it greys out the button making it hard to see the values.  I'm willing to just display the data without a button being presented, but the button may behave better for updates.

Is there any way to change the static color of a button so even in the read only state it appears clearly to the user?

A related question.  I'm trying to display to the same users the status of keyers.  What I can get from the panel builder is the button layout for the key type, but all I want is the value:

So for this, I would want a single button that changes text to show what the value is, not 3 buttons that illuminate.  I know it's a constraint that's driving it, but don't know how to create a single button that would just change text labels.

you won't be able to make it look exactly like a button (well I guess you could put an image behind it..)

Change the widget hint to a Label.

Then you can Apply Changes to see it change.

now go to Style tab and you can manipulate the label to get it pretty close to what a "button" looks like.

Note -- that the Style Items used all move to the top..  So you will first find them towards the bottom in their groups and then as you use them and apply changes you will see them move to the top "current" section int the sub sections...  

In a way it makes sense but it does mean for say Border or Font you could still have some adjustable items separated to two sections.
