The ID is just an identifier number, it doesnt have to match anything nor do you need to create a panel.
It will be the number that identifies the button in the asrun logs when you are looking at who exectued which crosspoint.

Subject: Custom panel for simple crosspoint control
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info. I'm looking to create a set of custom buttons rather than use the standard panels so I've tried the Rosstalk option but I'm now struggling with the user_id. Is this the Panel_ID of the Ultritouch panel that the custom panel will be used on or do I need to create a new ID for the custom panel?
Thanks,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,
There is a slightly easer way of creating panels if you use the panel builder and select the ultritouch as the template you want to use.
See the Ultritouch user guide on page 26 (configure a Crosspoint button)
If you want to create your own custom buttons, you can also use Rostalk as an option for crosspoint control.
XPT D:<dest> S: I:<user_id> [L:<levels>]</levels></user_id></dest>
There is an example on page 84 here.
Hope this helps!

I've created the custom panel pictured to allow an operator to select between multiple sources to a single destination. I've then created an API for crosspoint control of our FR5 but I can't seem to get this to work properly from the Ultritouch panel. What am I missing?
