    Hi -

Is there a way to connect Dashboard to the Remote Sequencer?  Similar to how Dashboard can control the Sequencer in Xpression Studio. If so, how do you connect that?

There is no Remote Sequencer API that Dashbaord can connect to similar to the XPression Sequencer, however, you can build a custom dashboard panel that uses Rosstalk to send commands to Remote Sequencer, both its linear rundown and individual channel playlists.

What version and build of XPression are you running?

Here are the RossTalk commands that are specific to Remote Sequencer control. You will need to add the RossTalk board in the RemSeq preferences:

    UP

    DOWN

    READ

    NEXT

    NEXTSTORY

    PREVSTORY

    CLRA

    SWAP

    CHANDOWN [chan]

    CHANUP [chan]

    CHANREAD [chan]

    CHANNEXT [chan]

    CHANCUE [chan]

    CHANTAKEOFFLINE [chan]

    CUE [id]

    SEQO [id]

    SEQI [id]

    TAKE [id]

    FOCUS [id]

    FOCUSSTORY [roid:storyid]

    Hey Garner!

I'm working on a DashBoard panel to drive the remote sequencer v10 5 build 5543 and I can use a RossTalk commands from the API on my port for the main sequence, but I haven't successfully sent commands for the individual channel sequences.

Are the above commands still valid?

The format is command space [channel number], right?

I think I tried without the space, without the brackets, with a colon instead of brackets, whole string in quotes, and any combination I could think of.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    James.

    Hey Garner!

While I've been able to send the down command for the main sequence, I haven't been able to send the channel specific commands. Are the commands above still valid?

    Thanks,

    James.

Here's what valid RemSeq RossTalk commands look like in Docklight scripting:

The command were added in v9 or early v10, so you should be ok.

Make sure you have the RossTalk GPI board setup in RemSeq (RemSeq > File > Hardware Setup > GPI Boards > RossTalk

Make sure the RossTalk board is using a different port number than any other software also install in the same PC. (Ex set Dashboard and RemSeq to use port 7790 for RossTalk).

    Hey Garner,

Sorry for the duplicate...I thought the first post had not posted.

Yeah, I found out about the port conflict on an earlier project!

The problem was that I was including the [square brackets] around the channel number!

I have not seen Docklight before, when I get caught up, I might go looking for it.

    Thanks,

    James

    Hey Garner, Jeff,

I'm almost finished with my panel...just looking at things to make it more user friendly.

Since the director might be focused on the panel sometimes, I thought using NDI to display my program and preview would be good.

Have you found SDI-NDI converters that are better suited to this?

I have also considered taking my Remote Sequencer display of five individual channel sequences across a two 16x9 monitors and rearranging them into ten NDI windows across two 1920x540 monitors---channel 1 preview, sequence, channel 2 preview, and so on.

Will HDMI-NDI converters support this approach?

    Thanks,

    James.
