  • 1.  Dashboard Datalinq with text object variable

    Posted 01-19-2026 02:00

    Hi everyone

I have a Dashboard data source with a Column property (path) of OID:Runner[34] in the Datalinq Properties settings.  The number in the square brackets changes depending on the runner number.  This number can be seen in the text object called RunnerID.  We have tried to put @RunnerID@ in place of [34] but it does not work.  Shows up blank.  Please could someone confirm whether you CAN put a text object macro into a Dashboard column path.  I hope that makes sense. At the moment it's not working and would appreciate some help from someone who has done this before, or, if it can't be done, please let me know so that we can find another solution.

    Thanks!

    Ilana

    Hi!
Which kind of data file do you use ? can you share it ?
I tried using a XML file and it works fine on my side if I put thing like that to display the runner name according to his ID (text object named ID)

    runner<@ID@>\runner_name

    Hi Alrick

My apologies, the issue has been resolved. We were testing it on a system that ran V7, which was pre-variables!  It works fine on the higher version machine! Thanks for the response, though :-)
