  • 1.  Dashbooard ogScript to move to Xpression timeline point

    Happy New Year all! I'm working on a xPression animation with an image carousel. Everything is going smoothly with Dashboard controls, but the client just requested the ability to jump to any specific image desired. Any suggestions on an ogScript solution to have a button play the Scene Director from the current timeline position to a desired timeline point? I have keyframes to rotate through the 10 images to play them sequentially, but that added control would really make the template something special.

    Any tips/help very much appreciated to help me in the Dashboard area - still very new and figuring a lot out

    I guess you would have 2 hidden fields in the scene. 

    One field would be updated with the current position of the playhead. 

    The other could be connect to a field in dashboard you could enter there.

    The you would do a playrange from current.text to entered.text

    Thank you Simon! That got me moving in the right direction! I used visual logic to link the Scene Director Position to a Text Object. I defined keystrokes in Keyboard/GPI Mapping to play an animation range with the Text Object to drive the current/start point, and now I can dictate the keyframes as needed for whichever image in the carousel I want to go to as the end of PlayRange. The plan is to link Dashboard buttons and I should be in good shape.

    Long story short, I appreciate the time for the advice!
