  • 1.  Data Triggering Scene Directors/Animation Controllers

    Posted 3 hours ago

    Hi All,

I'm using Cue to run a few games for pre-game and halftime shows, specifically a trivia game that is pushed out through Cue's interface online, but we build some custom looks for the trivia game in house. I have access to different data points through datalinq using Cue's data, including the question number we are on, seconds left for participants to answer, round number, etc.

I have tried a few methods (visual logic triggering play on scene directors, script on the onset text that can push either a scene director or animation controller) for triggering the next "slide" for a trivia question (usually a different scene director or animation controller) and have had great difficulty with the consistency.

Can anyone help with the best method to use the live, updating data delivered to me to trigger an animation controller and/or scene director? At times it feels like when the data is being updated my attempts to trigger the next slide/scene/scene director are ignored, as if somehow the scene is not recognizing that the question data has advanced. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Script is the best for this, what script are you using?

If you are using scenedirector.play you should follow that with a scenedirector.autostop = true otherwise XPression gets a bit mixed up about play states.
