  • 1.  De-embedding audio from a Frame sync source

    Posted 09-12-2023 13:34

I am using a Carbonite Ultra with a Rave audio breakout box and i am using the built in audio mixer. I am bringing in a video source  with embedded audio and i am trying to De-embed that audio but there isn't any audio as it is going through a frame sync. Is there anyway without me adding a external DA or De-embdder to get that embedded audio?

this is also a problem if i am just passing through the embedded audio to a video output but i have frame synced it for the Multiviewer

    Hi Reagen,

A way to get the embedded audio is to run the Carbonite Ultra in one of the SRC modes. This preserves the audio and does not strip it when applying a frame sync.

    On DashBoard...

    • Navigation Menu > Configuration > System > Global.
    • 'Switcher Mode' at the top of the page.
    • Select one of the modes with 'SRC'.

There are different resource allocation to different switcher modes. I recommend consulting the manual to know what they are.
