  • 1.  Dissolving a text layer in/out on an lower third clip

I've imported a lower third clip into Xpression created in After Effects that animates in and out as I want it.  In Xpresison, I added two text layers that will be specific to the person speaking on screen. I'm having a hard time trying to dissolve that text on and off. I've keyframed "visble" but it only cuts the text in and out. What is the right way to do this on a graphic?

I'm assuming once I figure out the dissolve part, I can have the clip pause on screen until hit "next" on the keyboard to dissolve the text off and play out the remainder of the clip.

You need to animate the "Alpha" of the text objects (NOT the "Visible").  If you want both text fields to dissolve at the same time I would place them both in a group and then animate the "Alpha" of the group.
