That is an issue with Companion in that it will take control of the port and "lock it up"
you would be best to setup a second GPI/RossTalk board in XPression with a different port to use for Companion / Switcher etc.
I can't remember if companion will allow you to change the port it uses to something other than 7788 .. if that is the case then you will need to change the port that the Carbonite is using.
Edit - Hardware Setup
GPI/Tally Board -- Add -- Smart GPI/RossTalk
Make sure to set TCP and a different port than the other one (default is 7788) like shown here to 7789 and make sure nothing else on the computer is using that port either.

Subject: Elgato Stream Deck Interference
Hello!
I work in college athletics and I recently purchased an Elgato Stream Deck for GPI triggers off of our dashboard panels. I have it connected to Companion currently running off of the Local Host network. It has been working great for a while and I wanted to try adding Xpression Take IDs to better fit my workflow. Once I did, it worked for about 30 minutes then my Carbonite switcher lost the ability to trigger Xpression Take IDs. Once i fully closed out of Companion and disabled the Xpression link the Take Ids started firing again.
I was wondering if it was a port issue but thought I would reach out to the community.
