Hey James,
I think that explains it---when I set up my first listener panel, I set it up globally.
Triggering actions on two panel seems like one is interrupting the other!
Over the weekend, I thought about adding a toggle to my director's panel that triggers the toggle on my utility panel.
As long as I don't set it to trigger on load, it seems like it should work.
Thanks,
James.

Hi James
There is no inherent conflict but it depends on how you have the panel set-up and some of your DashBoard preferences. There are 2 ways to attach triggers to a DashBoard Panel: the global RossTalk listener and the "Internal RossTalk GPI Listener".
If you are using the "Internal RossTalk GPI Listener" only one panel at a time can bind to the selected port - so if you have 2 panels open, only the first one opened will receive the RossTalk Messages. This is what it looks like when your panel is configured this way:

The other way is to use the "Global" listener in your DashBoard Preferences. In this case, the GPI message will trigger all open panels:

I have a DashBoard panel with an editable list of custom control recalls and bus assignments to build split boxes and feed monitor arrays on two MEs and a MiniME on our Carbonite Black, plus hot buttons for various pieces of art, clearing Xpression channels, etc.
I have just added a button (fired by RossTalk GPI from the Carbonite) that will change the background of my split boxes, cut to air, and play one of two animations depending on a toggle button parameter.
If I have two versions of the DashBoard panel open---one for this show, one for the next show---the button no longer works.
Is having two references to the parameter the conflict? or is it the two buttons with the same trigger ID?
I can disable each of the tasks in the button with a toggle parameter (offline vs live,) but I can't think of a way to make parameter not be a parameter.
I have the option to move the button to another panel, but it contains actions I drive from Carbonite that I would rather not be exposed .
Does anybody see a solution?
Thanks,
James.
