  • 1.  How to export a credit roll from a take ID as a AVI

I want to export a long credit roll to have checked by a producer before it airs.

How do I export all the items in my Take ID list as one video?

In the Sequencer you can right click on an item and "Export Take Item to" ... pop up menu .... "Video"

Pay attention to "Target Folder" in the resulting dialog to make sure you know where it is being saved to.

    Hi.

Thank you for your message. I tried what you suggested and I did that before I posted this message.

It only outputs each Take ID as a video. I want to output all 69 pages of my credit roll to one video.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks

You could right click on the group, export multiple files and stich them together. However, I don't think it will reflect the finish look.

You might need to use a screen recorder or record it in the studio. I think the export takeItem is a bit limited.

Wait. I think I found something else that will work.

Go to your XPression manual and look up " XPression AVI Recorder" and set one up.

Now in the sequencer you use that as your output monitor.

Unfortunately I cannot test that because the AVI recorder is not showing up as an option for me.

I believe you still have to save items individually with that method.

    Hi Simon.

So there is no way to save out a Take ID group of pages as an AVI?

Want this to be a credit roll that I can email to producer to check.

    Thanks

The best method to get lots of items is to record your output.

Another option is to have your credits pages under a scene group (layout tab) rather than a group in the sequencer. That way it can be dragged into the sequencer as a single item and then that can be exported as a single video. That's how I always do my credit rolls, but the reason I do isn't related to this particular use case (mine is to do with timing of the credit rolls).
