How to Setup an NDI Input on Xpression

    Hello Friends,

I'm currently working with XPression Studio 12.5 in a workflow that uses the NDI protocol for video transmission. At the moment, our system is configured with two NDI outputs, which are working correctly.

Now I would like to integrate a camera feed that also arrives via NDI into our workflow.

I tried to configure it following the video tutorial available online. In the Material Editor, I can select LiveSource and choose NDI as the source type. However, I cannot find where to select the specific NDI source I want to use.

In our network we currently have around 20 NDI signals available, and in other systems there is usually a dropdown menu to select the desired NDI source. In XPression, I can see that NDI is selected, but I cannot find where to choose which NDI stream should be used.

Could you please explain how the specific NDI input is selected in XPression?

Thank you very much for your support.

Sadly XPression is not very advanced at handling NDI inputs, we will improve it one day!

You need to configure the NDI framebuffer in XPression.

XPression > Edit > Hardware Setup > Inputs/Outputs >  Newtek NDI > Configure > Input Name Contains > NDI Source Name

You have to type in the name of the NDI source into the Input Name field.

Can you give the stream a unique name?

do you refer the stream that i'm sending from my other device?

for example I have a PC running ndi screen capture, the name of the ndi signal is   PC1_SW1 (vMix-Output3)

that name is what i type on "input name contains": PC1_SW1 (vMix-Output3) ???

the PC have 4 ndi signals, i need to get the 3th one.

thanks so much simon, i get it work, but i have to close and reopen xpression in order get the NDI signal, if I need to select other signal, the same process, in that way it works.

but know the signal is not fluenly, it has a lot of drops.
the output works fine both NDI outputs, the problem now is the input

there is a kind of setting?

Does the NDI signal drop in XPression with all the NDI sources or only some of the sources?
