  • 1.  inews, xpression moss plugin, MOS item too large error

We use iNews and the Xpression Mos Plug-in.  I was trying to bring in a bracket graphic (heavy in quads & text, but no masks or layer objects) and we get MOS item too large error.  Has anyone ever seen this?  What does too large mean?  Is it the overall size of the scene ??mb or is it the amount of quads and text.  We have a "smaller version" that has less quads and text and that works fine. TIA for any info.

This is an iNews error that the MOS command itself is too large. INews doesn't care about the file size of the scene, only the amount of data that needs to go into the MOS payload. In the past, it would produce this error if the MOS command exceeded 32,000 characters…not sure if that limit has changed. Is there a way to reduce the amount of published objects and/or properties in the scene that get entered in the MOS plugin?

Jeff is correct about what is going on. I think this is fixed in newer Inews versions?

A possible fix you could use now:

Enabling "Encode MOS Payload" in the XPression Gateway settings should reduce the payload size so that it fits inside the Inews limits:
