I don't know. i had the crawl working fine with the training i got but now it doesn't work. it reads the first 5 items then nothing even though the excel sheet has 16 items...and at the end it loops and reads line 2 which i dont want it to read. Here is a copy of the project and excel file. Thanks.

have you set a table you are using in your excel and connect to that and not to the entire sheet?

try starting at N+0 and then N+1, N is incremented each time so at the end of say 200 items N is 200 plus whatever number you add so you might be jumping to position 2 when you wrap around.

Subject: Issues with Crawl Using the N Method
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently working on a crawl reading from an Excel worksheet. In the expression, I'm using the N method. I've attached a sample Excel sheet for reference. I'm data linking it starting from line 3: Scene 1, Text 1... <N+1>, Scene 2, Text 1... <N+2>, and so on for all the other scenes. I only have five scenes, but it reads all items in the Excel file, regardless of whether there are 20 or 200 items. After completing the crawl, it is also reading the second line in the Excel sheet, which states "miamidadecounty." a lot of times. I'm not linking that line, but it keeps showing up. This behavior didn't occur consistently during my testing, and it was also demonstrated to my supervisors.
Does the N method require at least 10 items in the Excel sheet for it to read and loop correctly? There are some meetings where we only have one item. I've noticed that if I add more items to the Excel sheet, it works properly. Thanks, Laz
