Your looking for the softpanel.
with 15 that was moved to its own connection port so each panel Main - sat 1 - sat 2 and softpanel could have their own independent menus.
live assist is a menu in dashboard - like configuration / status / personality - etc.
that was what was confusing about saying live assist was missing menus.

Sure- thanks for the help, I may just be missing something. In our previous Live Assist we had a dashboard panel that looked like a mini switcher. I've attached some old screencaps. I liked using that in my classes to demonstrate the switcher layout & all.

We just upgraded our Carbonite Black to version 15, and I noticed the live assist panels changed. Is there any way or place that I can find the older, version 13 panels? Those were great for teaching my students about the switcher.
