  • 1.  MacBook with Qlab as a source

    Hi All,

Sorry newbie post here. I'm directing a show and we're using a MacBook running Qlab to playback a couple videos and some graphics. The signal is coming out of the MacBook as HDMI and into a BMD HDMI to SDI converter. Output from computer is coming in to Ultirx @ 1080p60b. Ultirx program is set to 1080i59.94.

The signal looks fine on the input monitor but in preview and program windows there is an obvious glitch, rolling, color, and framerate issue. Is there a way to cross convert in the switcher?

    Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

    R

The Router will handle and pass through as is.

You don't tell us what switcher it is though ??  Is the switcher in the Ultrix? if so is it a Carbonite or an Acuity?

    Hi Les,

We got it figured out. Thanks for the reply. There's a lot to this system and I'm looking forward to learning it.

    Cheers,

No you’ll need a scaler instead of the bmd converter. Something like a decimator md-hx or a bmd decklink card or uktra studio. The frame syncs internally will not up convert or will not convert from interlaced to progressive or vice versa.
