1 - Yes All Carbonite Switchers have "Custom Controls" which can also be referred to as Macros.
     - Here is a link to the manual section that explains custom controls -- https://help.rossvideo.com/ultra-60/Topics/Operation/CustomControls/CustomControls.html

     - Here is a link to one of our carbonite tutorial examples on them -- https://www.rossvideo.com/resources/ross-university/carbonite-building-macros/

2 -- I am not sure what you mean by "Idle Buttons" on the surface.   There are a few TouchDrive Panels to pick from so you could have a look here at those options:

3 - The ultra 60 can be ordered in 36 Inputs with 15 Outputs (12 Configurable + 3 I/O MV Dedicated outputs) or 60 Inputs with 25 Outputs (20 Configurable + 5 I/O MV Dedicated outputs) -- They can be ordered in 1ME (which includes 4 MiniME and 4 UltraScenes) as well as being able to ADD ME 2 and ME 3.  I would recommend looking at what MiniMEs and UltraScene can do in your producitons as that may change your opinion on how many "MEs" you may actually require.

This link will take you to some short Videos in a playlist that we did to try and explain some of these powerful features that are in the Carbonite Family of switchers
