I'm working on a multiple feed sport show. I'm on a small Ross Carbonite switcher. I have four transitions; a world replay in & out and a network replay in & out. I'm using ME1 for the network feed and ME2 for the world feed. Both shows are identical with the exception of the replay effects. I have built many custom controls to drive both ME's the same. When I tried to use ME follow I could not figure out how to get ME1 to use a separate media store for the media transition from ME2. Is it possible?

Second question. In previous experience I believe I was able to build a custom control to run a media transition it was smart enough to remember what media transition was loaded by way of the media manager when built so that when I ran it it would have the correct media transition. I.E a replay in custom control for the replay in would run the in and a replay out would run the out. My experience yesterday was that I had to add an action to the custom control of choosing which media transition to load with a combination of the Live Assist Media Selection and the soft keys on the top of switcher panel. Is the a better of easier way to navigate any of this?

    Thanks,

    Greg

ME Follow does not have an ability to substitute the Media Wipe function and the Channel / Media Item.  You would have to build custom controls for this.

When building a custom control to run a media wipe you still need to enter the media id as part of the Custom Control.  That event can be done in the custom control Editor but you have to add this.  If you load the media via the Media Manager or if you do it from the Live Assist Media Wipe page either of those will record a Load Media event when you are recording the CC.

Which Version of Carbonite are you on and which software version?

You can find this in Dashboard on the Status Menu.  you will see software version and Engine type.

I'll be back on the switcher on Thursday and will look at what version it is.

I will just say though, I don't come across the Ross switchers much in my world of sports but when I do and inevitably need some help the support from Ross has always been phenomenal. Thank you for that.

A dirty solution is to build MEs with both transition keyers active.  On both MEs, one key is fully transparent...

Sloppy but quick if you can burn the keys.
