    I would like to pre-build my Dashboard layout before I get the hardware online.  How do I go about adding an offline Carbonite into dashboard so I can copy & paste buttons?

    What would be better is to setup a Carbonite Sim and then you will be able to have a fully functioning offline tool.

    Then once you go to connect you just change the Data source to point to the newly active real switcher frame.
