  • 1.  PSL Port data & pinout

    Hey Everyone

I am trying to find what protocol is sent over the PSL port on the older carbonites & older control surfaces... I Believe its serial data but not sure of the exact details.

I am also chasing the Pin out of the PSL ports.  I am looking to extend an older panel using an ethernet converter but first need to know what protocol the PSL ports are talking with.

If there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction or let me know where to find it that would be great. Manuals i've read so far fail to mention this.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

The PSL port is a PCH device that is an LVDS over RS-485.  There was not really something generically available to do this so we did make a "gearlite" like device that put the Carbonite Black Panel Ethernet (ePCH) into a box to allow the older panels to talk to any frame over IP like the Black Panels.

That explains the product.  It would provide for you the connectivity you are looking for.
