Hi Les, this is more of a hypothetical as we are integrating a multistudio facility and I'm trying to ease the client's mind. I haven't experienced a full freeze where I haven't been able to use Dashboard to reboot the blade, but they've had some trouble with their current Carbonite Ultras freezing.

There is no Button for this .. if DashBoard and the panel can not talk to the SDPE blade we would really like to see the logs for this and find out why ... then remove that issue so that you don't have a blade crashing.
Have you opened a ticket for this? Can you still SSH to the Blade? Can you ping the blade external IP address?

Thanks for the reply Paul.
I'm really curious if there's a way to reboot when the SDPE becomes completely unresponsive to Dashboard and the control surface/menu interface. Like an emergency, "hit this button to stop and restart all processes on individual SDPE blade" so if I have live shows going on at the same time on other SDPE blades in the Ultrix frame, I don't have to take down the whole facility.

There is the "Prepare to Shutdown" option in in the Status / Power tab.
To turn it back on I would powercycle the Ultripower output that goes to that SDPE. But maybe a Ross official can tell you if you can wake up the carbonite without powercycling.

In the event of an Ultrix Carbonite SDPE blade crash/freez, is there a way to reboot a single SDPE without needing to reboot the whole router? If we have 4 SDPEs in an FR12, we don't want to shut down the other 3 studios just to get one back up and running.
