  • 1.  Ross Acuity with Ross Tria + Playback Controls

    Hi!
We*ve a Ross Acuity v9.2d and a recent Ross Mira/Tria+ Playback System. The Tria works great as a standalone playback machine. We need it in conjunction (and exclusive) with the Ross Acuity for multiple Wipes, Loops and Backgrounds. Our connection (AMP protocoll) works, but only for one channel. Both devices were setup from this Help-File Ross Tria, Mira, Kiva Series Video Servers  as AMP.

The Tria is setup to a fill+key simulroll and two regular playout channels.
The first (A+B; fill+key) set works. If i try to setup one or both additional channels inside the Acuity Input Configuration, one random channel is selected and all commands are issued on this channel. No option to lead the commands to another channel. Like mentioned in the Manual I've set Channel to 0, 3 and 4; the Sub-Channel is on 0.

Sadly neither the Acuity Manual/Helpfile, nor the Tria Manual/Helpfile mention the proper setup of a Ross Switcher with a Ross Playback machine.
How do I need to setup both machines for accessing all channels?

    2nd Problem:
With only one channel prepared, the Tria doesn't respond after a few hours without any command. The second command works. Like the Tria needs to "wakeup" before executing the cue+play command.

Can I enable an "always respond" function?

    3rd:
In order to access clips, I need to setup every clipnumber inside the Clip Menu (HOME > Clips > Assign Clips ). This works well. Until I reboot the machine, then I get an empty Clip List in the Acuity.
How do I save my Clip List? If that is not possible, how can I reliably select a clip from inside a macro/Custom Control, which must work after a reboot?

    Have a nice day,
    Greetings!

I would use the VDCP over TCP when using the Acuity and Tria.  We find that interface works better with that pair.  You will also be better to setup a Single Port per channel of control.

You can load a clip list and cue a clip directly in the Custom Control so that you don't need to build it out in the VTR clips IDs at all...

That link has all of the control methods you can use..  I would recommend for what you are looking for is to use the VDCP instructions and setup a device port per channel of control.
