Thank you Louis and Les.
I took both of your advice. I ended up using two Caprica systems to talk to a single device using RossTalk. For safety, I enabled the device, sent the message, then disabled the device. Enabling the RossTalk device added 20 frames of delay which was acceptable for this project.
Thanks for the quick response!

Subject: RossTalk: Can multiple Acuity systems RossTalk to the same device & port?
Acuity does a Open and Close after sending .. some devices out there will hold on to control ports (Companion....) and with Acuity what we would do is just open multiple RossTalk In devices.. Ultrix Acuity recent software update also now has the ability to accept multiple connections on a single port with an extra option enabled.

Subject: RossTalk: Can multiple Acuity systems RossTalk to the same device & port?
I have two Acuities in separate control room that need to send RossTalk commands to the same device. The listening device can only listen on a single port.
Does Acuity RossTalk establish a continuous connection to an IP:Port? Or does it connect, send a command, then disconnect?
If it's the latter, then I'm hoping I can use the Acuity to communicate directly with the device with the caveat the Acuities cannot be used simultaneously.
Background:
I'm connecting to a BTI Ticker product which accepts triggers via socket byte strings which is how RossTalk works. RossTalk works far better than the custom Python script I was building instead. My question is purely about connectivity and whether the Acuities can both connect to the same device:port using RossTalk. If not, I can use Dashboard as intermediary. Essentially: Acuity --> (RossTalk) Dashboard --> BTI. For simplicity, I'd like to leave Dashboard out if possible.
