I discovered something fun that I haven't seen documented, but technically, makes sense.

I built an effect that used a Scene and added it to a custom control. I then deleted the Scene from my panel map, yet calling up the CC, the Scene returns. There is no crosspoint for it, the row is dark, but the effect is recalled.

I remember the Kalypso did this because it didn't care about the panel mapping. It seems the Carbonite - Touchdrive does the same. If you think about how the panel and frame get along, it makes sense.

While this feature is little help to me because I have all the crosspoints I need, for complex shows this can be really helpful.

    Great observations Danny!!

Yes you can access all the crosspoints and buses via DashBoard Menu and the sources can be set via Customs and Memories even without them assigned to the panel map!

it's always so hard to layout the panel though and not assign them :) but really is something we should explore in our workflows more!

I used this function all the time when I was a News TD (pre automation). Sources that were buried in effects never had a crosspoint. I'd save one crosspoint to build what I needed that day and then deleted it. I'd save cosspoints so that I could have ME Previews as a primary.
