  • 1.  Streamdeck Companion from Dashboard

I've been successful in triggering Ross custom controls with no problems. But I have a couple of Streamdeck buttons in Companion doing things that are a lot simpler to program with than in Dashboard. So I am wondering it there is a way to trigger these Streamdeck buttons from Dashboard through Rosstalk. I am only finding documentation on triggering Ross gear from Streamdeck.

There is a feature (I don't use it so I don't know the details.. but it must be in their docs)...

They can enable a RossTalk Listener and then I think they use the Custom Control Command to map to their buttons.

So in DashBoard you setup to send to the Companion and send the CC RT command they specify.

    Marty

You need to enable the Rosstalk conenction in Companion and the switcher IP (default 192.168.0.133 from memory) and port (normally 7788)

Then for example to make a ME1 preview  cross point button, add this Press Action

    Carbonite: XPT

    Destination ME:1:PST

Choose the souce - eg IN:1

For feedback and source labels you need another module called tslumd-listener and set your Carbonite to send TSL 3.1 UMD to Companion

I have watched both of Matt's videos on YouTube about setting up RossTalk listener in Companion and setting up the CC but cannot seem to get Companion to respond to Roll Clip commands from our Carbonite Ultra. I suspect that there may be problems with the syntax from Dashboard to Companion.

The video about sending the Rosstalk commands show a page and button number in Dashboard's CC, but I don't think the Page 1 Button 1 command is the same in Companion. When I look at my Streamdeck, the button numbers are now like 1/0/1 depending on the page, row and column. Does this track with how Dashboard is set to deliver these commands?

Any insight into getting Companion to receive Rosstalk commands would be very helpful.
