Hi folks!
Long time no see here on the forums. I'm sitting here with my DashBoard of the ages again, and it is still growing in size. It contains a stupid amount of data really at this point, and it's only gonna get more... The file size is closing in on 2 MB now, and for essentially being a text document, I feel that's quite something. Passed 31 000 lines of code in the thing now.. Heh...
Anyhow, this isnt about that. This is about some experiences I've made over the time now, and something I really feel should be improved....
- Searching for a parameter:
Search field for the "Parameters" view, and also when creating a parameter field and want to use the value of an existing parameter and not make a new one...
I think I currently have a couple of hundred parameters total.... That is counting all the rows of my StructTables as well... And finding ONE of them while having to scroll through them all is quite the pain to be honest. It does not help that all the suboids and entries of each StructTable is also open allready when trying to browse through. Meaning I have to close each and every folder every time to get to where I'm trying to get in the parameters view...
- Set default folder for file picker - and noURI but no absolute path:
This is just a QOL upgrade I would like for the file picker... At the moment there no way to set a default folder with a config option for the filepicker to open in... This would be a huge timesaver for us at least. As now we have to navigate back through desktop, to quickly get to the dropbox folder where images are located. This is not in the same folder where the DashBoard is located. I grab that absolute path, with no URI, and I pass it on to Xpression (running on the same machine) to change a logo for example. And while on the subject of "noURI" flag in the config options, if set to true, it will also act as an absolute path and no longer start from the folder where DashBoard is located. Just a small something...
- Better support/layout for Ultrawide monitors:
Ok, so "support might not be the best description I have... But I want the "Edit Component" windows to not be fullscreen when opening...
I have one of those as you might've seen in the video above. But while an ultrawide is excellent for multiple software and windows next to eachtother, the fullscreen of the edit component is completly "wrong". It also doesnt help that if I take it out of fullscreen, size it as I want, and reopen, it goes back to fullscreen...
You can see a video here of the 3 things here:

And if anyone has any questions regarding the DashBoard, please feel free to reach out. Allways fun to help out others!
