Hi Robert,
In the tally console software, the source definition table is not updated dynamically - the names in the first column do not update if the name in the upstream router changes. You can however set the router to be the default source of names
If you navigate to Hardware > Com Ports > Routers and select your Evertz router, you will see two check boxes on the far right options pane (use as short namem use as long name)
When checked, this causes the tally system to send the router provided name to the multi-viewer (the name set assigned to Quartz profile 4843)
This change will need to be sent to the tally controller (CTRL+U)
This router provided name will be sent if there is no alias (long name or short name) defined in the tally system console.
If you define an alias in the tally system console, that will name overrides any name provided by Evertz

Subject: Tally System Console 3.8 Software
Hello.
We currently use 2 Ultrix FR5's each with a TDx3 in Acuity mode. We have two BCS Ultricore units setup for Failover if needed between the two. The BCS handles our Tally for Ultriscape monitors and UMD data for those monitors. For now, camera tally is controlled off the SDPE blade directly to the Camera system. My question is specific to the software that configures the Tally, which is Tally System Console 3.8.
We use an external Evertz router in this mix and in the software, we have source definition names for the Evertz sources. I renamed one of these sources in Evertz but in the Tally UMD it still shows the old name. I am assuming I have to update it in the source definitions. No issue there.
My question is how do I push the update for the change I just made. From my understanding the change is made in the software and then pushed to the Tally control in the BCS.
If this is true then just looking for some steps on how I push the update to BCS tally.
Thanks
