  • 1.  Time code in - Carbonite Black 113 Frame

    Posted 11-19-2024 13:16

    Hi,

I want to get EDLs out of the switcher and need to get timecode into the frame. The Gearlite TSC-9902 (LTC to serial converter) seems to be end of life and difficult to find on the 2nd hand market. Are there any other way of fixing this? Different boxes doing the same thing, anyone knows of a 2nd hand unit for sale?

    All help is appreciated!

    Trond

You will need to do it 0 based and then Offset it afterwards.  There are no other available Time Code to Serial Adapters.

    Hello,

I came across this thread because I am trying to feed LTC into a CBF-113 so the display clock stays in sync with house.  I noticed that the TSC-9902 is hard to find, which is pretty annoying considering that it's necessary to do this!   However, take a look at the Horita TCI-50, which inserts TC into RS422.  Should be the same thing, I may try it.

We have no idea if that will work .. the TSC was made by Ross and the interface was not exactly something that is a "standard" protocol.

The parts went EOL and we were no longer able to make the device.

Hello Les, thanks for the response.  I just asked Mark Sharp about the TSC and he confirmed it's done.  Perhaps he texted with you!  This development is unfortunate for people who want the multiviewer clock to follow house TC or TOD).  And also the manual and QS guide should be updated so people (like me) don't get the wrong idea!

I don't know if the Horita will work either, but it might.  Since the port was intended for RS422 machine control, the timecode should be handled the same way by any device that uses that protocol.  If I get one from B&H I can return it.  I will let you know!
