  • 1.  TouchDrive Custom Panel file location

After updating my TouchDrive (and its instance of Dashboard), my Custom Panel files are gone. Is there any way to get those back? Also, where does the TouchDrive save its custom panel files by default?

It was saving it to the internal file storage location that was selected when making it.  Or to a USB drive that you had connected.

Depending where you saved then it is probably had those locations overwritten if you don't see them...

Ok so it was saving to internal storage on the TouchDrive. Ouch. Was this possibility documented somewhere and I missed it? Is there a way to back these files up? From now on I'll save to a USB drive, but just in case.

Not that it helps now (sorry) but we have found saving to USB and copying those files to a Google Drive every month is a good process. Besides the obvious, we find that user files that have passed their usefulness can be kept off the active USB, keeping for a cleaner Dashboard, but still be available if someone needs to retrieve a specific effect or custom control.

When making a new custom panel you would have the opportunity to select the Browse button to then navigate where in the File System you would like to save it too including USB Drives that are mounted..  If you did the full OS install using the USB to make it dual boot capable then it probably would have cleaned the entire Drive since it does a full erase and format...

If you just did the v1.5 upgrade then you could under the file system add your own drive location to keep it outside of the files that would cleaned and removed..
