    Hi, curious to know if it's possible to apply transparency to the key of a text object?

    Hi Julia, transparency can be applied to the text object via the Object Manager as with any other element, either directly or by placing it within a group and using the group to control the transparency of multiple items.  You can also adjust the transparency via the the font material or by applying another material that contains transparency.

    Don't forget under rendering you also have control of which channels are rendered for each object.
