Hi Michael,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. And yes, TRIA will only export video files in the standard that the machine in running in. I do understand that this could mean that the exported files are large. The best alternative that I can suggest is to export (large) files in the native file format of AVC-I 100 which is the quickest export and then convert these files to an alternative format externally. One that I can suggest include Adobe Encoder or Telestream Vantage. You may also like to know that Telestream Vantage supports the TRIA .clip native format so that you should be able to grab a .clip file directly from TRIA.

Subject: Tria Explorer export less than 1080, MXF converters
Do I have to change my video settings in engineering to below 1080 to export a clip less than 1080? I'm trying to get my file sizes lower as a 2 hour tria record exported as a 1080 MXF is 100 GB. Anybody use any converters to export to different formats that keep the resolution and get those file sizes down?
