  • 1.  Tria export to MXF, playback in VLC

    Hi all,
Did anyone tried exporting clip with two channels of audio from Tria as .mxf to play it back in VLC? We run into a curious case where VLC was seeing these two channels as separate tracks and it would play only first track as mono by default. VLC can be selected to play either Track 1 or Track 2, but not both at the same time, unless it's started from command line with special options. What I did was to run the exported file through ffmpeg to merge two mono tracks into one stereo track. More details can be found on Trouble with Tria ... playing with ffmpeg if anyone from Tria team is interested to look into it.
My question is - can clip be exported natively in Tria to .mxf with stereo track instead of two mono tracks?

    Thanks,
    Goran

    Hi Goran,

Tria exports audio tracks as individual "mono tracks" only. It's the same for all of our Video Servers.

    Thanks,

    Hi Isabelle,
Thank you for the clarification. It's good to know. Our end user (instructor that teaches Video Production) is satisfied with that, it was just my curiosity ;) on why VLC behaves that way with Tria exported files.

    Thanks again,
    Goran
