    Is there a way to use the clip player in a sequence?

    ie.  4 steps in a sequence that load 4 different video clips in order.

    Yes you can Cue and control the Clip Player via the Sequencer.

    You use the Device Control  - Video Server Events.

    Make sure for the "device" you scroll down to the bottom of the list for the ClpPlyr

    Then Type in the Name as you see it in the clip menu

    Make sure to keep those .mp4 or .mov extensions are there.
