Hello, 

I want to embed the output of an audio console (Digico) to the Ultrix NS-FR router to have the ability to route the embedded audio/video signal to some Kipros and other destinations.

My questions is, may I embed & de-embed audio in Ultrix NS-FR routers directly? What audio format may I use?

In case the answer is yes, where may I find information about how to do it?

Hi Gustavo,

Yes, you can embed and de-embed audio with Ultrix. All video inputs and outputs include an audio embed/de-embed feature for up to 16 channels of embedded audio. These are connected via our internal Ultrixmix audio matrix, which allows fully flexible audio routing. 

To integrate audio with your Digico desk, you can link your Ultrix via MADI or DANTE, which then allows routing of any audio channel to/from the mixer. These interfaces support up to 64x64 audio channels each. If you require more channels, multiple interfaces can be installed on your system. These are optional features of Ultrix and will require an appropriate SFP. Reach out to your sales rep to add one of these options to your system.

• SFP-MADI-COAX: Coax MADI in/out. Installs in AUXA or AUX B port
• SFP-MADI-1300MM: Multimode fiber (1300nm) MADI in/out. Installs in AUXA or AUX B port
• SFP-MAD-1310SM: Single mode fiber (1310nm) MADI in/out. Installs in AUXA or AUX B port
• Ultrimix-DANTE: Dante I/O license for 1 port. Bundles with RJ45 1GbE SFP. Installs in AUX C of HDX or MODX I/O cards.
