  • 1.  Use Excel Sheet to Rotate Through Messages in a Single Scene

I can't quite figure out the easiest way to do this. I'm looking for a way to display submitted (and, yes, vetted) messages from event attendees that are loaded into an excel sheet. There is one message in each row, and I'd like to set something up to change the row being displayed on a set time interval. The number of messages is variable, so setting up a ton of text objects and toggling visibility is my least preferred option.

    Any ideas out there?

A quick a dirty way would be to use %relid%.

create a scene group and number it for example 1000, then put your scene in that group 1001, Datalinq your excel, but where it selects the row <1>, swap that with <%relid%>, then make as many copies as you want.

the last part, goto the group and change the Group Take option at the bottom. Play out Mode to Timed, then set it to Fixed Item Duration and set your time. Then in that section you can set it to loop or take offline at the last message.

That's a perfect answer for this case. I actually do that all the time on our Tessera system for ads, I just hadn't made the connection. Thank you!
