  • 1.  Using symbolic links

    I added a shortcut to a folder in another folder with images. Under template data, tab Image Files, this shortcut to a folder wasn't visible.
    I found a solution to this, i removed the shortcut and created a Symbolic Link to that same folder instead (MKLINK /D ....) ...that appeared to work fine.
    I am not in any way some IT dude, so i wondered if anyone knows if this lkind of work around could cause any significant problems?

    Its totally fine to use Symbolic/Symlinks. 

    was the shared folder a network drive? 

    If it was a network share, and its not showing in the XPression file browser, you can fix that by making this change:

    In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

    Right-click Configuration, click New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

    Name the new registry entry as EnableLinkedConnections.

    Double-click the EnableLinkedConnections registry entry.

    In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type 1 in the Value data field, and then click OK.

    Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

    Yep, the shared folder was a network drive, and it worked instantly .. but always good to know the fix in the registry if it wouldn't work.
