Subject: Using Ultrix Router to make a Custom Embedder
After speaking with a colleague, we were able to build an ISO audio router using Dashboard. Maybe this will help someone else.
In Dashboard, in our database we added a Multibus panel. We did this on our Control room An Ultrix frame since all of our cameras were already there.
In our current destination table, we named 4 unused destinations as ISO Embedder 1 through 4. (These will be physical outputs to our Evertz router). We set the panel to 4 destinations and then added those destinations to that panel.
We then added all of the Camera sources we would need. On my Audio from Dante panel, in Dashboard, which is where I get my program feed from my audio board, I added enough new Dante feeds to match the number of Mics we use. For example, Mic 1, Mic 2, etc. Testing this on a pre-fader setup, we simply routed our mics to these new Dante receives. For the sources I did include 2 audio sources that are attached to the cam.
Now, all I have to do is choose the cam, and click take. Then I choose my two channels of audio, then click on the Mic channel and click take. This links them together.
We do need to test the final output but that said, this did seem to be a relatively easy solution to this issue.

You could do this two ways...
On the output you would do a Video only Switch to the source you want and then do an Audio Only Switch to the Audio Source you would like.
Or
you create more "Inputs" in your table that have the additional Audio Variations... that way you could add the audio that you want with it...
ie
Cam 1 with "Camera Audio Channels"
Cam 1 with "PGM Audio Channels"
Cam 1 with "Effects Mics"
IN those cases you would switch the outputs via a combined source and all levels

Subject: Using Ultrix Router to make a Custom Embedder
Hello. To set this up.
We currently have 2 FR5 Ultrix frames in Acuity mode, each connected to a TDx3 panel. We are primarily using this as a switcher as our main router is an Evertz router. We run audio mainly through Dante using an SSL.
Looking to see if I can use the Ultrix essentially as custom audio embedders(ISO setup).
Currently we do have 12 inputs that come from the Evertz as inputs to the frame. On a Dante panel in Dashboard, these are connected to specific Dante channel on the SSL. This is more of a static setup and not what we would want in this situation.
What we are trying to do is have a couple ins and outs on the frame where we could route audio from say Mic 2 to Cam 6.
Once this is done, we could output to where ever it would need to go, i.e. recordings, router, Remote feeds, etc. In this setup, we would need production to be able to quickly make these routing changes. Honestly, since we already have the cams in the switcher/router not sure if we even need more inputs in this scenario as it only be necessary to connect the audio and video on an output of the Switcher/Ultrix.
Just confirming this would be possible(seems like it would be) and how difficult it would be to set this up? Would we need a custom panel or is this something where we could use an actual router panel to route audio to an output of the FR5 frame.
Thanks
